Cathy Smith, a long-time Eastern Washington University employee, died on Nov. 24.
Smith started working in custodial services at EWU in September 1999. In a recent email to Smith’s colleagues, her manager said, “Cathy had a big heart, going above and beyond for students, staff and co-workers. Cathy was always willing to help out co-workers with their areas, showing them secrets of the trade.”
Smith is survived by her husband, Dave Smith, also a former EWU employee. No local services are planned.
