After a rigorous interview process, the Eastern Washington University Police Department is excited to announce that Lt. Sean O’Laughlin has been selected to serve as the next deputy chief of the department.
The process consisted of an open community forum, officer forum and an oral board and presentation. Lt. O’Laughlin was formerly a patrol sergeant with University of Washington Police Department, is currently a Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve, and has been a lieutenant at the EWU Police Department since August 2018.
He will assume his new role as deputy chief effective Mar. 1, 2021. Please take a moment to congratulate him on this milestone in his career.
