Eastern Washington University will celebrate the 2022 graduating class with in-person commencement ceremonies Saturday, June 18, at the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena.
With the last two years’ ceremonies pushed to the virtual stage by the pandemic, the year’s events will also give the university a chance to welcome back students from 2020 and 2021 who want to participate in the festivities.
There will be two ceremonies on Saturday; one at 9 a.m. and the other beginning at 2 p.m. The early event will include students from the College of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences, the College of Health Sciences & Public Health and the College of Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics.
The afternoon ceremony will feature graduates from the College of Professional programs.
A total of 2,176 undergraduate and graduate students are expected to participate Saturday (this represents about 65 percent of the eligible participants – which is the historic average for commencement).
EWU also expects at least 172 ’20 and ’21 alumni to join in the ceremonies.
