Campus Community Encouraged to Share COVID-19 Experiences

The College of Public Health and the Office of Health, Wellness and Prevention Services at Eastern Washington University are hosting a community-wide research project that will run through June 30, 2020. This project will allow Eastern students, faculty and staff the opportunity to share how the current pandemic is affecting their daily lives.

The theme for this project is: A New Normal: A Photovoice Project to Understand the Impacts of COVID-19 on the EWU Community. Please visit EWU’s Photovoice website to learn more about the project.

Participants will take photos to address the listed questions, then submit photos with captions anonymously to Padlet for review. Participants do not need to create an account in Padlet to take part. If you are prompted to create an account, click “continue as guest.” By submitting without an account, your submissions will remain anonymous.

Questions:

  • How has the pandemic positively or negatively impacted your life?
  • What strategies are you using to cope with the pandemic?
  • Are there any new health behaviors that you are participating in that you didn’t do before the pandemic?
  • How has the pandemic impacted your world view?

At the end of this project, research staff will consolidate and theme photos and share them with EWU’s administration and campus community.

The organizers would like to see a diverse array of submissions from students, faculty and staff to help them fully understand the impact of the pandemic on the Eastern community.

If you have any questions about the project, please contact Lindsey Fulton (lfulton3@ewu.edu) or Sarah Mount (smount2@ewu.edu).
