We are saddened to report that retired faculty member Jack Benson passed away on Dec. 29. Benson worked at EWU for 34 years, serving in Physical Education, Health and Recreation.

Eastern is saddened to belatedly report that former longtime professor, Adam Raley, died on Dec. 16, 2021. A former Benedictine monk, Raley, a professor emeritus of philosophy and humanities, retired in 1998 after serving the university for 28 years. EWU is saddened to report that Robert (Bob) Herold, professor emeritus, passed away on Nov. 12. Herold retired from EWU in 2009 after serving the university for 40 years in his role in the Government Department.

Our Eastern community was saddened to learn that Joanne Craner (Charlton) passed away on Oct. 16, 2022.  Joanne retired as manager of the EWU Bookstore on July 1, 1995 after 24 years of service to the university.
