Do you want to give joy during EWU’s annual Giving Joy Day?
But you need to stay home due to the COVID-19 pandemic?
Eastern Washington University’s lovable mascot can help! Just accept Swoop’s Challenge from the comfort of your home.
Giving Joy Day is this Friday, April 3. It is also Eastern’s 138th birthday. While COVID-19 prevents us from throwing a campus-wide party, we will still give joy.
To accept Swoop’s Challenge, make a donation of $13.80, $138, $1,380 or $13,800 to the Eastern Washington University Fund that means the most to you. This year, because of the COVID-19 outbreak, we are specifically asking those who can give financially, to donate to the Student Emergency Fund. Monies will be used to address students’ immediate needs, such as the technology they need to continue their studies online, as well as basic needs such as food and childcare.
Scholarship funds, academic departments and colleges need your support as well. You can find a fund that is important to you at our Giving Joy Day website.
We also understand that not everyone can give financially at this time. There are other ways to help EWU give joy while practicing social distancing. Use #GivingJoyDay to share on social media the ways in which you are giving joy. You may be volunteering to bring groceries to your neighbors in need, helping support childcare needs for your family or friends, or even sharing recipes, spring cleaning hacks, or ideas for family activities while kids are out of school.
Either way, your actions will make a difference on Giving Joy Day—and that’s what it’s all about!
