Join the EWU Biology Department for a Darwin Day Celebration

Join the EWU Department of Biology as they take their annual Darwin Day celebration virtual this year.

The seminar will feature author and executive director of the Highlands Biological Station, James Costa. He is an evolutionary biologist, entomologist and historian of science.

In recent years, Jim’s research and writing have largely focused on Darwin, Wallace and the history of evolutionary thinking. He has written several books on these topics and his seminar talk will include discussions from his latest book, Darwin’s Backyard: How Small Experiments Led to a Big Theory.

Following the seminar, we will celebrate with a Darwinian themed cake competition. Those interested in participating in the competition will need to submit photos of your cake to BioOfficeStudent@ewu.edu by Sunday, Feb. 7. Organizers will vote on cakes during the celebration and prizes will be given for out to first, second, and third place winners.

Join the celebration from 2-4 p.m. on Friday, Feb.12 via Zoom using the Meeting ID: 950 8890 5822.

Head over to Facebook to RSVP.
