Student Proof of MMR Immunity or Exemption Remains Mandatory

In October, Eastern Washington University suspended the enforcement of its student MMR immunity policy due to a shortage of vaccinations and extended wait times for appointments at the MultiCare clinic in Cheney. At that time winter quarter registration holds for failure to comply with the immunization policy were lifted.

However, the policy still stands. Students are required to provide documentation that shows they have received two doses of MMR vaccine or blood-test results confirming MMR immunity. Individuals with religious or medical reasons for exemption may submit an exemption-request form.

Students are asked to utilize the extra time granted by the current enforcement suspension to locate their existing MMR documentation or schedule appointments for either titer tests or MMR inoculations. For many students, this may be easiest during holiday break.
