Under other circumstances, semester grads from Eastern Washington University’s College of Health Science and Public Health would have walked at commencement on Friday, May 8. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, EWU was forced to cancel in-person graduation ceremonies. Instead, the college got creative and celebrated online, hosting a virtual “Presentation of Honors and Awards” program. Please enjoy the YouTube video below:

Also, the Department of Dental Hygiene held a virtual graduation via Zoom on Friday, May 8. Family, friends, students, faculty and staff gathered to celebrate the resilience of the Class of 2020.

Congratulations to everyone in the EWU Class of 2020 who graduated Friday!

Meanwhile, plans are in the works for a virtual commencement for the full Eastern Washington University Class of 2020, both semester and quarter program graduates. The online celebration will be on Saturday, June 13, the day regular commencement was to be held. The university will share more information about the virtual ceremony in coming weeks. The university is also inviting students who would have walked the stage this spring to participate in traditional commencement ceremonies in spring 2021.
