EWU Offers Temporary Wi-Fi in Select Parking Lots

Eastern Washington University is offering Wi-Fi coverage in several campus parking lots in an effort to provide students with internet access from the safety of their own vehicles. The temporary access is now available in these Cheney campus parking lots: Roos Field parking lot, Hargreaves-Isle parking lots, Showalter parking lot, Visitor Center parking lot and Sutton-Martin parking lot.

You can find a map of these locations by using the interactive campus maps on InsideEWU. Select ‘Temporary Wi-Fi Coverage’ from the filter menu.

The Wi-Fi coverage is available for any students or staff who need it—just connect as normal. Students are encouraged to connect to the “eduroam” network (instructions). Eduroam is represented on more than 700 campuses in the U.S., including Gonzaga, WSU, UW, and WWU. This allows students (and faculty/staff) to connect to wireless using their home credentials without having to go through guest wireless registration or restrictions anywhere eduroam is available.

Students who do not have parking permits should indicate that they are using Wi-Fi if approached by parking enforcement. Tickets will not be issued in that situation.
