Certain Essential Workers Eligible to Receive Covid-19 Vaccine

Effective Wednesday, March 17, all essential workers in critical infrastructure, regardless of age, who work in a setting where there is a high risk of exposure to Covid-19, are eligible to receive the Covid-19 vaccine. Critical workers in high risk settings include people whose jobs were identified as essential by the Gov. Inslee and whose work must be performed in an enclosed setting where social distancing is not possible. Anyone who is teleworking full time does not qualify.

In addition, people who are 65 and older, who are 50 or older and live in in a multigenerational household, work in a health care or child care setting, or who work in in a prekindergarten through 12th grade school are eligible to receive the vaccine. People can verify their eligibility on the Department of Health’s Phase Finder. We highly recommend that you complete the Phase Finder before trying to find a vaccine. If you need assistance, please contact Human Resources at hr@ewu.edu.

EWU strongly encourages everyone who is eligible to receive the vaccine as it is critical to ending the current pandemic. If you are an EWU employee and are eligible to be vaccinated, you may use up to two hours of your work time to be vaccinated.
