EWU is proud to be a major sponsor of Spokane Hoopfest 2022! It is the official Diversity, Equity & Inclusion sponsor for events throughout the weekend.
Eastern sponsored several youth teams from diverse backgrounds so they could receive free registration this year. Those teams have shown a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion. EWU also sponsored the Girl Scouts STEM Mobile so it could be at Hoopfest.
And EWU’s Adaptive Athletics program and its wheelchair basketball team will get things going with a Friday evening exhibition.
Highlights include:
- An Adaptive Athletics Exhibition in partnership with MultiCare, showcasing EWU’s wheelchair basketball team at Northern Quest Center Court on Friday, June 24 from 5-6 p.m. This event will include the first public appearance by new EWU President Shari McMahan and is open to the public! - A message of unity and inclusion from alumnus AJ the Wordsmith during the Opening Ceremonies on Saturday, June 25, at Northern Quest Center Court. AJ will be introduced by Shari McMahan.
