Phyllis Wilkerson, who served as a secretary in the EWU English Department for 18 years, died on Feb. 16, 2021. She was 95.
2021 commencements will again be virtual for both semester and quarter programs, EWU administration announced today.
For the past year, Eastern students have remained “Eagle Strong” as they’ve managed the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic while committing to stay in school and earn a degree. To celebrate these students, and help return a part of the college experience that was lost, the university will allow recent and upcoming grads to continue using some student services after they graduate.
The final analysis and assessment included various scenarios for the university to consider, but no final decision will be made until this spring. The public is invited to submit comments on the report through March 26.
“With COVID numbers declining and the vaccine slowly taking hold, I have called on all university staff to prepare a plan for a return to work on or about July 1.”
