Eastern Washington University and Spokane Hoopfest continue to build on a partnership that helps make the huge three-on-three street basketball tournament a success. In 2020, though there was no traditional tournament due to the COVID-19 pandemic, EWU became a major sponsor of Hoopfest. To ensure that the partnership has benefits for EWU students, the university donated three of its backboards to allow design students to express their creativity.
Three design students, Matthew Barden, Tannor Glumbick and Delaney Umemoto, created unique backboards for Hoopfest 2020, which will now be featured in 2021. Their artwork was highlighted in a recent article on the Spokane Hoopfest website. Hear from each of the students and see their designs below.
