The non-profit organization uses the plarn individuals and volunteers donate and make to knit bedding for the homeless. Plarn is repurposing plastic bags into yarn. The organization uses The plarn bedding is waterproof and warm for the homeless facing the harsh weather conditions outside
The purpose of Cards for Hospitalized Kids is to provide handwritten cards of encouragement for children who are in the hospital. Many of these children have chronic or life-threatening illnesses. Ultimately, the founder of this organization’s aim is to uplift these children with simple words of encouragement.
The mission of the Hillyard Senior Center is to create a philosophy and provide an environment which encourages seniors to keep an active mind and body. Programs are offered to challenge and stimulate seniors, promote good physical and mental health, and give a sense of well being and enthusiasm for life.
PAWS is an organization based in Seattle, also known as Progressive Animal Welfare Society. The PAWS Mission Statement is: “PAWS is people helping cats, dogs and wild animals go home and thrive – whether home is the family room or the forest. We do this by rehabilitating orphaned and injured wildlife, sheltering and adopting homeless cats and dogs, and educating the community to inspire compassionate action for animals.”
