This organization is a non-profit organization hospital. They accept donations and charities but they never charge their patients for their care. They focus mainly on child health when it comes to catastrophic diseases and cancers.
According to the Whitman County Sherriff’s Office website “The Whitman County Sheriff’s Office is committed to making Whitman County a safe place to live, work and raise families. The Whitman County Sheriff’s Office strives to enhance the quality of life within Whitman County by working together with area law enforcement agencies and the community at large as we respond to the needs of those we serve.”.
For my project, Letters to Soldiers, I had a group of 7th grade students create letters thanking the soldiers for their hard work and dedication. After viewing the partner organization website, Support Our Troops, I noticed that there were many items that soldiers requested. On my own, I went to the store and gathered a few items that were mentioned by the soldiers. After gathering the letters that the students wrote, a picture of all the students, and the various snacks, I sent the package off.
The non-profit organization uses the plarn individuals and volunteers donate and make to knit bedding for the homeless. Plarn is repurposing plastic bags into yarn. The organization uses The plarn bedding is waterproof and warm for the homeless facing the harsh weather conditions outside
The purpose of Cards for Hospitalized Kids is to provide handwritten cards of encouragement for children who are in the hospital. Many of these children have chronic or life-threatening illnesses. Ultimately, the founder of this organization’s aim is to uplift these children with simple words of encouragement.
The mission of the Hillyard Senior Center is to create a philosophy and provide an environment which encourages seniors to keep an active mind and body. Programs are offered to challenge and stimulate seniors, promote good physical and mental health, and give a sense of well being and enthusiasm for life.
