The mission of AHS is to “To engage the hearts, hands, and minds of the community to help animals”. They focus their efforts on creating a more humane world for animals. They do so by finding homes for animals, creating service projects, transforming the care shelters provide for animals, and starting new adoption shelters.
Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (A.L.S.F.) believes in changing the lives of children with cancer through funding impactful research, raising awareness, supporting families, and empowering everyone to help cure childhood cancer. Money is raised through donations, as well as crowd and partner funding. ALSF is dedicated to building an ever-growing community of scientists, families, donors, and partners that aims to find a cure for childhood cancer.
The purpose of this organization is to provide fun, wholesome activities for the community to meet recreational interests. To maintain a healthy and safe environment by maintaining parks and public areas. To reach out and meets the needs of all who live in the community.
The purpose of this non-profit organization is to honor active military personnel and show them their bravery does not go unnoticed when fighting for our country. This organization allows communication between these soldiers who are sacrificing so much across the world and civilians. This is a way for us to thank them personally for all that they do and all they have given up for us to live freely.
The second harvest food bank wants to tackle hunger one person at a time. They bring community resources together to feed people in need by empowerment, education and partnership. They provide more than 2.5 million pounds of donated food in the Pacific Northwest. The 2nd Harvest Food Bank is fighting hunger and feeding hope.
When donating through the Scholastic Reading club flyer, there’s an option to make a $1 donation to Book Trust. Book Trust empowers 50,000 kids from low-income families to choose and buy their own books throughout each school year. A dollar doesn’t sound like much, but combined together a dollar can create a larger amount of money that can help a child get the opportunity to enjoy the gift of reading.
