Camp Journey at Ross Point is a summer camp for Children touched with cancer. They provide a day camp, and residents camp for kids to just be kids without having to worry about medical issues. The best thing about this camp is it is no cost to the families!
The Boys and Girls Clubs of America is an amazing organization that’s mission is to enable all young people to reach their full potential. This group works with young people to get the ready to be productive members of society by providing them with several resources to help keep them on track in life and in school. They have a vision to support young people in their journey to living a healthy lifestyle and demonstrating good character.
Books For Africa is the largest shipper of donated educational materials to the African continent in the world. They have shipped more than 34 million books to 49 different African nations since they were founded in 1988! Not only do they ship donated books but with the donation money they buy educational supplies and ship that to Africa, as well.
The mission statement of Blessings Under the Bridge is this: “Through God and unconditional hope, we endeavor to reach, bless, and offer love to the homeless and less fortunate by restoring purpose and dignity to the hearts of the homeless in our community and the community around the world.” The purpose of this is to plant the seed that God loves these people. Since our Heavenly Father has shown grace and love to us, we are able to extend the hand of love to others who need it too. Every single Wednesday during the year, rain or shine, this organization provides a (usually hot) meal to their friends.
2nd Harvest partners with schools and community partners to create the organization of Bite 2 Go. This is a program that supplies weekend food supplies to children in need during the school year. Their mission is to provide healthy food and hope to children in need during the school year.
Art With Heart helps children who have experienced trauma express and deal with their emotions through creative expression. This organization provides tools and resources for children, adults, and even communities that need healing. Through artistic expression, this organization helps children in need of a therapeutic, healing experience.
