A group of children from the ages of 5-12 years of age made dog treats to donate to S.C.R.A.P.S. They created the treats, talked about the benefit the treats had to the organization and were able to see their treats being given to the dogs through a photo book!
We held a school wide food drive where students/teachers bring in canned food/nonperishables. After multiple weeks of the food drive we also asked communities members to donate shoe boxes. The students put food into the shoe boxes, decorated them and gave them to meals-on-wheels. The students also walked them over to the nursing home across the street and gave them to the elderly people there.
The thirst project is a non-profit organization that uses their donations to build wells to provide a developing community with clean water. They use the help of volunteers to put in the wells provided by donations. The thirst project also visits schools to spread awareness around our country.
The purpose of 4Ocean is to clean up pollution in our oceans. They are focused on the trash that washes ashore on a daily basis. They concentrate on the ocean shores in Florida, Haiti, and Bali.
The Isaac Foundation’s mission is to fund innovative research projects that aim to find a cure for MPS, a rare, debilitating, and devastating disease. They provide support for families of individuals suffering from MPS and advocate on their behalf to ensure government funding for expensive, life-sustaining treatments are covered by the health care system.
Panhandle Animal Shelter helps provide homes for dogs and cats that need them. The shelter relies on donations and fundraising to take care of the animals. The majority of people working at this organizations are volunteers. Panhandle Animal Shelter’s mission statement is, “To create and support meaningful connections by enhancing the lives of dogs, cats and the people in our community who love them.”.
