S.C.R.A.P.S is short for Spokane County Regional Animal Protection Service. This organization provides low cost vaccination clinics and free training classes for owners and their pets. It also takes in pets and animals wandering the streets or are dangerous to the people around them. The mission statement of this organization is to save pets, protect people and build community.
Riverview Retirement Community provides health care, housing and services in a Christ-centered environment. They have a caring staff, board and many volunteers whom are dedicated to serving the spiritual, physical and social needs of their residents. They provide many activities and get residents involved in their community as much as possible so volunteers etc., are always welcome.
Operation Gratitude sends care packages filled with items donated by grateful Americans and service-friendly companies that want to express their support for Heroes serving overseas and here at home. Their goal is to bridge the civilian-service divide.
One Tree Planted is a non-profit organization focused on global reforestation. As an environmental charity, they are on a mission to make it simple for anyone to help the environment by planting trees.
Newbyginnings was created by Teresa Hart, mother of fallen soldier SPC Nicholas Newby. Her life was forever changed when her son died unexpectedly in Iraq. She quit her job and eventually created Newbyginnings to help local veterans. Every day they help many Veterans, Active Servicemen and Women, and Gold Star Families that are struggling financially. They may be struggling with the VA system, health issues, or even relationship problems because of the related stress. We have found that Newbyginnings is a place where they can come not only for basic household necessities, but peer support, resources and referrals to other agencies.
The NFFCMH provides advocacy for the rights of children and families with behavioral, emotional and mental health challenges. They help families obtain supports and services related to mental, behavioral, and emotional health through a family and youth-driven approach. They also provide leadership and technical assistance to a network of organizations.
