Inland Northwest Community Gardens

On their website they claim their mission is to, “Inland Northwest Community Gardens provides local access to healthy edible gardening through networking, demonstrations, advocacy, and connecting people to gardens and urban agricultural or sustainability programs.” They go to communities and help them to build a community garden that they hope can remain active and well used for years to come. They also have a yearly rate to be a community garden member. The fees are $8-$10 a year and this gets members food from the garden and an invitation to potluck dinners.

Springdale Food Pantry

Springdale Food Pantry is a 501 C-3 non-profit started March 21, 2018. Staffed with volunteers from the surrounding community, SFP relies on donations from RURAL Resources out of Colville and the community at large. All of the donations (fresh, frozen, and dry goods) goes to the residents within the local area. All volunteers go through orientation and are required to get their food handlers permit.

La Casa Hogar

La Casa Hogar is a family that supports the community of Yakima. La Casa Hogar connects and educates Latino families, to transform lives in the Yakima Valley. La Casa envisions transforming divided neighborhoods into connected communities. This organization values children and Latino families by educating and providing them with the necessary resources to enhance their skills and achieve their professional and personal goals. La Casa Hogar prioritizes civic engagement and is actively involved in immigration rights coalitions, census work, local and statewide government and other community committees.

Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs

The Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs helps connect veterans and their family members to the benefits and services they earned through their military service. The Spokane Veterans Home is a place where veterans are treated with the dignity and respect they deserve, in distinctive settings that provide a sense of belonging. The WDVA offers State Veterans Homes are Medicaid and Medicare Certified and provide 24-hour nursing care, medical care and pharmacy services. They provide a number of supportive programs and services such as: Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Recreational Activities, Social Services, Volunteer Programs, Hospice, Nutritious Meals, Community Involvement, Religious Programs, Transportation, Laundry, Beauty & Barber Shops and Patriotic Interment Services.

St. Vincent de Paul

St. Vincent de Paul is a non-profit, religious organization that is dedicated to feeding, clothing, housing, and healing families or individuals in need and have no where else to turn to for help. This organization also provides help for people’s physical, mental, and spiritual needs. They not only have thrift stores throughout the country but they have medical and dental care for the “working poor”, services for the homeless, food boxes, and general assistance for those in need.
