Guardian Angel Homes is an assisted living and memory care community that allows elderly residents to live in an environment that feels like home. The community offers a range of living options from a small single level home, to a larger two story-residence in order to allow residents to choose the environment in which they are most comfortable.
The Isaac Foundation’s mission is to fund innovative research projects that aim to find a cure for MPS, a rare, debilitating, and devastating disease. They provide support for families of individuals suffering from MPS and advocate on their behalf to ensure government funding for expensive, life-sustaining treatments are covered by the health care system.
Panhandle Animal Shelter helps provide homes for dogs and cats that need them. The shelter relies on donations and fundraising to take care of the animals. The majority of people working at this organizations are volunteers. Panhandle Animal Shelter’s mission statement is, “To create and support meaningful connections by enhancing the lives of dogs, cats and the people in our community who love them.”.
Tom’s Turkey Drive is an annual event that’s goal is to provide a Thanksgiving meal to anyone in the community who has a need. Tom’s Turkey Drive was started by the weather man from Krem2, Tom Sherry. As of 2019, they will have celebrated their 20th anniversary of this event.
“The mission of the Fall Folk Festival is to present the diversity of our community through traditional music, dance and the arts.” In 2005, the festival expanded to two days and showcased more than a 100 performing groups. The festival takes place at Spokane Community College and is organized by the Spokane Folklore Society, a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization.
La Casa Hogar is a family that supports the community of Yakima. La Casa Hogar connects and educates Latino families, to transform lives in the Yakima Valley. La Casa envisions transforming divided neighborhoods into connected communities. This organization values children and Latino families by educating and providing them with the necessary resources to enhance their skills and achieve their professional and personal goals. La Casa Hogar prioritizes civic engagement and is actively involved in immigration rights coalitions, census work, local and statewide government and other community committees.
