The Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States is a nonprofit veteran’s service organization comprised of eligible veterans and military service members from the active, guard and reserve forces. Their mission is to foster camaraderie among United States veterans of overseas conflicts. To serve our veterans, the military, and our communities. To advocate on behalf of all veterans. For Veteran’s Day, my second-grade class wrote thank you cards for our local veterans. We learned all the branches of the military as well as well known memorials. Students recognized how brave these people are and how their courageous actions have provided safety and freedom to all Americans.

Pine Rock Ridge Homeowners Association

The purpose of the HOA is to help facilitate the care and upkeep of a neighborhood called Pine Rock Ridge in Spokane Valley. The HOA consists of roughly 140 homes and contracts with various service providers for landscaping and snow removal. They also pay (with dues from homeowners) to service a sewer pump house that pumps waste from homes in the neighborhood to the county’s sewer system. The HOA has the authority to act as liaison between homeowners and the city of Spokane Valley to mitigate issues concerning streets, street lighting and sewer service.
