Painted Wood Art

The Painted Wood Project was inspired by the Kindness Rocks Project having the same idea in mind, to spread kindness through the community. It evolved into painting wood pieces for the children to give to someone who they appreciate and has impacted their life in a positive way. The idea for the Painted Wood Project was to show love and kindness to someone who has shown it to you.

Friendship Bracelets

For this project, I partnered with Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital. I worked with students and explained to them how there are kids their age within the hospital that are still having to learn while being isolated and not around their friends. Because of this, we wanted these children to feel seen, heard, and know that we were thinking of them, so we provided bracelets that shared uplifting words of encouragement to provide to these children in the hospital with love and happiness!

No Bake Doggie Treats

For this project, students will be learning about animal shelters and their role in our local community. After that, students will get to make no bake doggie treats and donate them to SpokAnimal animal shelter. After they finish making their treats they will get to go on SpokAnimal’s website and choose the dog they would like to donate their treats to.

Our Place Community Outreach works to provide the essentials of modern living- food, personal hygiene products, bus passes, clothing, laundry services, etc., to families in Spokane who cannot otherwise access them. Their mission statement highlights their goal of providing emergency resources to those in Spokane. Through a combination of outreach, goods, and vital services, Our Place Community Outreach looks to foster an environment where opportunities and support are available for people living in poverty.

Tree of Sharing

The Tree of Sharing is an organization that provides gifts to the “often forgotten” members of our community during the holiday season. They have brought together over 50 different agencies in order for a far-reaching accumulation process and to remain impartial in the distribution process. They have been serving community members of Spokane since 1982.
