Working Outside? Stay Hydrated and Warm
Working outside in the cold weather can be as dangerous as working outside in the heat. If your job involves working outside make sure you know the hazards and stay safe.
Stay Warm and Safe!
The National Fire Protection Agency estimates that fires resulting from space heaters account for 84% of civilian deaths, 75% of civilian injuries, and 52% of direct property damage.
See Something, Say Something

Eastern has a limited amount of time to report certain injuries to the state.
Driving in a Winter Wonderland
As the temperatures drop and frost covers our windshields, it’s a good time to think about safe winter driving. According to the Federal Highway Administration, “Over 1,300 people are killed and more than 116,800 people are injured in vehicle crashes on snowy, slushy or icy pavement annually.”
It’s Dark Outside
Winter is coming and it’s getting dark earlier. Plan ahead to stay safe on campus and around town.
