Crayola ColorCycle

I did the Crayola ColorCycle with 3rd graders at my placement site. My 3rd graders were in competition with the neighboring 3rd grade classroom to face off in collecting the most markers. The students are to be collecting markers for roughly 8-10 weeks (length of time my vary). At the end of each week the classes are to add up the markers to track the growth to then share with the other class. At the end of the project the markers are added up and announce a winning 3rd grade class.

Recycle to Regrow

Recycle to Regrow is a project that inspires students to clean the Earth while also giving them the freedom to positively enhance it as well. With this project students are encouraged to go around their school, parks, and home and collect recyclable trash. After they collect the trash their helpful volunteer, you the teacher, can easily take the recyclables to the Spokane Commercial Recycling waste management site.

Pop-tabs

For my project, I will be collecting pop tabs off cans for the Ronald McDonald House Charity. These pop tabs go towards a great cause, they can help support families. The organization helps with providing rooms for families or finding resources to assist families. Students will be working together to collect as many pop-tabs as they can to help the families in need.

Dog Toy Making

My 2nd grade students donated t-shirts that they no longer used at home, and together as a class we made dog toys to donate to the Spokane Humane Society. The students got to choose if they wanted to use short strips of t-shirts or long ones, to either make a toy for a big dog or a small one. Each student made two dog toys, because we had so many t-shirt donations, so we were able to donate about 50 dog toys.
