A Million Thanks

Student Contributor -G. Bush
AMillionThanks.org distributes letters to U.S. troops stationed around the world. The organization was founded by Shauna Fleming, a high schooler at the time, in 2004. They have distributed over seven million letters. The organization sends a box of about 1,000 letters to an individual service member and they then distribute the letters to their unit.

AMillionThanks.org has started two additional missions for their organization. One is granting the wishes of military injured in the War of Terror and the other is funding higher education scholarships to children of fallen military. They have partnered with major celebrities and companies such as General Motors, Shutterfly, Southwest Airlines, Nascar, and Jessica Simpson in order to raise greater awareness for the organization. The founder, Shauna, speaks to groups around the nation to raise awareness for the organization. Partnering with this organization can impact many lives.

Teachers and students can partner with this organization to make a difference in the lives of our troops. Receiving a letter from a student can show our troops the appreciation we have for all of the sacrifices they make. This is a great way for students to connect with our military. As a class, you can also raise money to donate to the organization as well to help veterans and the children of fallen service members.
