The Oaks at Inglewood is an assisted living facility in Stockton California. Their mission is to fulfill the lifestyles of their patients by making them feel welcome and providing an extensive list of activities and amenities.
The Oaks at Inglewood strives to keep their residents active and connected in community life. Beyond weekly excursions, The Oaks at Inglewood residents stay active in the community through projects like sending out Valentine’s Day cards nationwide for veterans. The Oaks values community involvement and would welcome participation from teachers and students. This would give students a chance to give back directly to people within their community. By partaking in activities like card making or game nights students have the opportunity to gain knowledge and insight about caring for all the people within the community.
Students and teachers could take a trip to The Oaks at Inglewood and volunteer their time in multiple different ways. Some ideas of activities they could do, or participate in would be:
Holiday card making
Card games
Students could read books to residents
Perform a holiday performance
