Riverview Retirement Community provides health care, housing and services in a Christ-centered environment. They have a caring staff, board and many volunteers whom are dedicated to serving the spiritual, physical and social needs of their residents. They provide many activities and get residents involved in their community as much as possible so volunteers etc., are always welcome.
This organization is a non-profit that is dedicated to helping an elderly community in Spokane. They try to get residents involved in as many activities as possible. Though, some residents are bed ridden or are unable to leave the Retirement home for outside activities. Due to this, volunteers and people of the community are very valuable. Teachers and others can bring joy to the residence in many other ways that don’t require them to leave the facility. Such as, by writing letters, visiting residences, drawing pictures, putting on concerts, etc. The residents appreciate everything volunteers do for them and are always open to new events and ideas. Riverview is always evolving and growing with the surrounding community, there are endless possibilities to be included in.
Teachers and students can partner with Riverview by volunteering, writing letters, preforming (music, plays, etc.), visiting residence, and many other ways. Riverview is open to endless possibilities, just keep in mind some residence are unable to leave the facility as well as respond to some letters. Activity coordinators will work with you to come up with ideas on how to get you and your students involved. All you have to do is reach out.
