The purpose of this organization is to support the local community in providing food options. They also aid in resources and growth for families who need these services. They are open to provide the community with community service information, food stamps, and referrals, etc. The Loon Lake Food Bank is there to establish healthy food options and provide the necessary means to do so for families around.
The Loon Lake Food Bank helps over 1600 families a month in different aids. They accept support through friends, businesses, and other agencies. This non-profit organization makes a difference by providing the local community the extra care that families need. Not only does the Loon Lake Food Bank provide different services and resources, but they are also about growing their community and building it up. They even host a yard sale where all the donations help the food bank. The items are clothing, home items, books, tools, and furniture. They have partnered with local farmers in their project called the N.E.W Hunger Coalition. This provides fresh produce to eighteen different regional food banks. It’s part of their Farm to Food Pantry project as well. This goes to show that they care about the people of South Stevens County and want to help the families in need.
It is easy for teachers and students can partner with the Loon Lake Food Bank. This can be done in the act of canned goods or donating money to their organization. Teachers and the school faculty can host a school wide canned food drive with their students. All the canned foods collected can be donated to the Loon Lake Food Bank to help them in their journey to support the community. There are many ways to support the work this non-profit is doing. They accept volunteer workers, donations, and even allow schools to help plant produce for their N.E.W Hunger Coalition.
