American Indian Residency

RCW 28B.15.0131: Resident tuition rates – American Indian students allows students who are members of specific tribes to gain resident tuition in Washington. Those tribes are federally recognized and have traditional and customary tribal boundaries that include portions of Washington state or were granted reserved lands within Washington state. This survey will help you determine if you are eligible for residency for tuition purposes in Washington state.

Do you currently live in Washington, Idaho, Montana, or Oregon?
Have you lived in Washington, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, or a combination of these states for at least one year?
We calculate this based on the first day of instruction for the semester that you wish to start receiving resident tuition. For example, if you are applying for Fall 2023, which starts on September 21st, 2023, have you lived in an eligible state since September 22nd, 2022?
