Fingerprinting Services

**FINGERPRINTING SERVICES ARE TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED DUE TO COVID-19**

FINGERPRINT PROTOCOL DURING COVID-19

  • All personnel will wear the following when engaged in finger printing customers:
    • Cloth mask
    • Single-use, disposable gloves
  • Customers will need to make appointments as no walk-ins are accepted. At the time of making an appointment, EWUPD will inform clients:
    • Client must self-screen for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 before arriving.
    • Client should not plan to bring other guests with them.
    • Clients should call 359-4021 when they arrive to notify EWUPD that they are waiting outside. EWUPD will then unlock the door.
    • Clients should bring their own mask and put it on prior to leaving their vehicle. They should be prepared to wash their hands for at least 20 second prior to starting.
  • Customers are required to access the building through the front door and only one customer will be allowed at a time. The front door will remind customers of their need to assess their symptoms prior to entering the building.
  • Lobby door to remain closed and will be unlocked as the appointment time arrives.
  • CHECK IN before you STEP IN.  There is a QR code at the entrance of the Red Barn. Open the camera on your phone, and put the camera up to the QR code (like you are taking a photo).  Follow the prompts to complete your check in.
  • Customers are required to sign in when arriving in the lobby. Sanitized pens will be provided to customers, and replaced and sanitized after each use.
  • Customers are required to wash and sanitize their hands before printing.
  • Customers are required to wear a cloth or paper mask:
  • When making the appointment, customers will be advised to bring their own mask.
  • If customer shows for appointment without a mask, one will be provided.

CLEANING PROTOCOL

  • Once the customer leaves the building, the following cleaning protocol will be initiated.
    • All door handles and general surface area will be disinfected/wiped down on the double entry doors to the lobby area as well as the single door to the printing area. 
    • Livescan device will be disinfected per Washington State Patrol instructions.
  • On a weekly basis, the entry area, lobby and printing area will be disinfected by custodial services.

The EWU Police Department fingerprints students, staff, faculty and community members  for teacher certification, the Counselor Education Program, MS in Mental Health and School Counseling, and employment purposes.  The department is located in the Red Barn at 609 W 7th Street.  Please call during business hours to schedule an appointment (359-6498).

EDUCATION CERTIFICATION/RECERTIFICATION (LIVE SCAN)

We can provide Live Scan fingerprint services for teacher certification (EWU Education students, Cheney School District employees, and Medical Lake School District employees), the Counselor Education Program, MS in Mental Health and School Counseling

If you need Live Scan prints, even if you are just renewing your fingerprints, please bring the following documents to your appointment:

  • Photo ID;
  • A receipt showing that the $10 EWU Police fingerprint fees* have been paid;
  • For Education fingerprints, you will need the document showing the OSPI number; the EWU Education Department or your school district will provide this to you.  Please complete this form before your appointment, if it is missing any information.

INK PRINTS

If you need ink prints, please bring:

  • Photo ID;
  • A receipt showing that the $10 EWU Police fingerprint fees* have been paid;
  • Fingerprint card(s); and
  • A 9" x 12" envelope to mail the fingerprint cards without bending them.
  • Check or money order to include in your packet, if required
