The EWU Police department has 13 full time, commissioned officers patrolling the university campus and its adjacent property.  EWUPD is always looking for the best and brightest who are willing to answer the call to serve to join our amazing team.

The mission of the Eastern Washington University Police Department is to continuously earn the public's trust by providing positive, courteous and competent police services to the EWU community we serve.

Integral to our commitment to community policing, we strive to build collaborative partnerships between law enforcement and the community we serve in order to develop solutions to problems and increase trust in police.

Mission

We are committed to continuously working in partnership with our diverse campus community so together we may foster trust, reduce incidents of crime and promote safety through education and enforcement.

Values

Treat all people fairly and with respect.  Foster a mutually-beneficial relationship with the public.  Provide fair, impartial and professional community-based policing by exemplifying the highest standard of conduct.

Goals

To serve the university community, by protecting life and property. To ensure all persons are treated fairly with respect, while preserving State and Federal laws. To encourage unity and the appreciation of cultural and racial diversity for all members of the university community.
