Important Information
A notary public verifies identity and performs the notarial act requested in the document. A notary cannot prepare or complete your document, provide legal advice, explain its legal effect, or select the type of notarization for you.
If you are unsure which notarial act is required, contact the person or organization receiving the document before scheduling.
An appointment does not guarantee that the notarization can be completed. The notary may be unable to proceed if identification, personal appearance, document completeness, competency, willingness, or another applicable requirement cannot be confirmed.
