Congratulations to EWU McNair Scholar Monica Miranda! Monica has been accepted to Pacific University’s Master in Applied Psychological Science program.
From the Applied Psychological Science Master’s Program website:
Students gain expertise regarding the impact of cultural, biological, social, emotional, cognitive and behavioral factors on psychological phenomena. Emphasis is placed on the development of a strong theoretical and empirical foundation and on clinical and methodological skills that can be utilized in a number of applied settings.
Monica will graduate from EWU in 2023, majoring in Applied Developmental Psychology and minoring in Spanish, with a certificate in Child and Family Support. For her 2022 Summer Research Internship, her research with mentor Dr. Shanna Davis explored the psychological effects of going to K-12 school in a language other than your first language. We know Monica will bring positivity and sharp perception to any graduate program she attends, and achieve her dream of helping the Latinx/Hispanic community access affordable mental health services.
