Serena Camacho Accepted to WSUCongratulations to EWU McNair Scholar Serena Camacho! Serena has been accepted to Washington State University‘s PhD in Cultural Studies and Social Thought in Education program.

From the Cultural Studies and Social Thought in Education website:

Our program of study and our expectations for students and for faculty are framed by culture as the concrete practice of everyday life and as a process of meaning making that is deserving of concerted intellectual investigation and concrete social action.

Serena will graduate from EWU in 2023, majoring in Health Psychology. For her 2022 Summer Research Internship, Serena worked with Dr. Camille Frank on a research project titled Higher Education: Student Success and Supplemented Educational Participation. Prior to transferring to EWU, Serena received her Associates in Applied Science from Spokane Falls Community College. We know she will bring a capacity for compassion and thinking outside the box to any graduate program she attends, contributing strong research to her field.
