Congratulations to EWU McNair Scholar Malachi Chukwu! Malachi has been accepted into the Laney Graduate School Summer Opportunity for Academic Research (LGS-SOAR) Program within the Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) program at Emory University. The award includes a stipend, housing at Emory, and supplementary funds for travel. LGS-SOAR is an intensive 10-week PhD-prep summer program. All students work 40 hours per week on research and participate in two seminar series. Last summer, as a part of the EWU McNair Scholar Program, Malachi completed a research project on the economic development in the Niger Delta under the guidance of mentor Dr. Majid Sharifi. We're so excited for Malachi's next step in preparing for graduate school! To learn more about Malachi and his research, check out his page on our website!
