Congratulations to EWU McNair Scholar Bakima Ssebanakitta! Bakima has been accepted to Eastern Washington University’s Master of Science in Counseling: Clinical Mental Health Specialization program.
From the EWU Clinical Mental Health Counseling website:
The program is both extensive and comprehensive. It is nationally accredited by CACREP and fulfills education requirements for licensure for mental health counselors. Continuous opportunities for expanding awareness of the self of the counselor will be provided.
Bakima will graduate from EWU in 2023, majoring in Psychology through the Honors Program. For her 2022 Summer Research Internship, Bakima worked with Dr. Jillene Seiver on a research project titled Growth in Adults through the Covid-19 Pandemic. Bakima has seven years of experience in professional life coaching, mediation, and end-of-life facilitation applications. In counseling, her aim is to educate clients on self-advocacy and somatic approaches to healing. We know she will bring rigorous and nuanced study to any graduate program she attends, and go on to a fulfilling career in clinical psychology research and practice.
