Michelle is the resource for student assistance and support in times of challenge, crisis, or emergency. So, if a student is hospitalized, has a death in the family, has been the victim of a crime, etc. Send them here. You can contact her directly if you have concerns about a student’s well-being or a physical/mental health issue. She is in fact the person to go to if you don’t know where else to turn. She also manages an emergency fund for students who have safety needs (changing a lock), need to replace books due to damage or theft, etc.
Counseling and Wellness strives to meet the overall wellbeing needs of students. Services offered include wellbeing coaching, individual and group counseling, central food pantry and food cupboards, outreach, presentations, and sexual health resources. We offer a brief intervention model to address student mental health issues, with a 6 session annual limit. Counseling is offered both in person or virtually. Please call our office to set up an appointment or for more information. You can also visit www.ewu.edu/bewell. Counseling and Wellness is open 8-noon and 1-5pm, Monday through Friday. Academic advising helps students with understanding general education requirements, learning how to use the SOAR degree audit, and connecting with potential majors. Students should enter with an advisor assigned to them.
