Consider taking a month in your class to talk about the importance of caring for all individuals in a community, whether human or not. During this month there are several different activities that you as a class can do to raise awareness. Consider having a month long humane society drive, where students bring in animal supplies to donate. Donations can range from old towels, to food bowls or toys. As a class, you can go to the humane society and volunteer to spend time with the animals. You can also raise awareness by posting PSA’s around your school about the animals in need in the community. Students can create these PSA’s and share them with their school and with their parents
