The Southside Food Pantry is a non-profit organization based in Spokane, Washington. The Southside Food Pantry gathers, sorts, packs, and distributes food to people who can’t afford nutritious foods.
The volunteers at Southside Food Pantry have a passion to serve the people in their community, especially families in need. The Southside Food Pantry is just one of the 61,000 pantries and meal programs in the Feeding America network, as well as a partner in the Second Harvest Hunger Relief Network. They have contributed to the 3 billion meals served across our country that has fed over 49 million people and 800 million pounds of produce for needy families. Overall, the Southside Food Pantry provides nutritious foods for hungry people in the community in a way that respects their dignity.
A great way that students and teachers could partner with the Southside Food Pantry is simply to donate canned goods and other food items. That could mean having a canned food drive in school (school wide, grade wide, or class wide).
