One Heart Global Ministries (OHGM) is a Christian based non-profit group started in 2010. Their mission is to meet the basic human needs of people in third world countries and to establish self-sustaining communities and church. This group provides many opportunities to do the work of “Gods People” by going on mission trips to Ecuador. Upon arrival, this group provide medical care, dental care, shoes, supplies, and education to the people living there.
OHGM is a great example of going where there is a need rather than just seeing it, unlike a clothing or food bank where donors don’t get to see the end result, this organization will send people and the donations out on a mission trip to areas in need of support. This allows people to see how their donations and their interactions or time spent with the people will impact their life for the better.
This organization is always accepting donations they can bring on their mission trips. Teachers and students can put together a toothbrush, school supplies, or socks and shoes drives to send to students in Ecuador (Children in Ecuador who do not have shoes are not allowed to attend school)
If teachers are looking for a more academic way students can get involved, OHGM is also accepting notes and pictures of encouragement to send to their outreach teams, and to school children in Ecuador.
