City Gate’s mission statement is “To Reclaim, Rebuild, and Restore, Lost and Broken Lives.“ They are a Christian organization that strives to support people in many ways through the use of a food bank, clothing bank, free meals throughout the week, and through providing low-cost studio apartments to people trying to get back on their feet. They average serving 60,000 people every 6 months.

St. Margaret’s Shelter

St. Margaret’s Shelter provides emergency and transitional shelter to promote positive life changes in a supportive, short-term environment. St. Margaret’s Shelter offers social services that include individualized case management to regain and stabilize housing for families experiencing homelessness. They offer stabilization services that are driven by the families they serve and provide housing and vocational experts to assist families with resources and connections to community partners and programs.

Spokane Valley Senior Center

The purpose of the association is to promote fellowship, health, recreation, social and education activities for persons 55 years of age and older, regardless of race, color, creed, religion, sex, national origin or ancestry. The Senior Center offers a year-round variety of activities including social, recreational, educational, and nutritional programs to meet the interests of seniors. Those programs include: bingo, card games, Wii bowling, aerobics, tai chi, pickle ball, information and referral services, art classes, dances, free hearing tests, foot care and other kinds of care.

Spokane Edible Tree Project

Spokane Edible Tree Project

Since 2013, Spokane Edible Tree Project (SETP) has connected fruit tree owners, volunteers, food banks and community organizations with the goal of fighting hunger and food waste in the Spokane area. SETP empowers local people in the area to share in the harvest and care of existing fruit & nut trees by implementing food recovery methods, in which volunteers harvest uncollected produce from residential homes and local growers, and distribute them to families/individuals in need. This organization envisions a thriving urban area (Spokane) where all people have access to healthy foods via locally acquired resources and are competent in the care and maintenance of fruit and nut trees.

Spokane County Veterans Service

The purpose of Spokane County Veterans Services is to provide emergency assistance/relief to indigent honorably discharged Veterans, their families and widows pursuant to the laws of the State of Washington. Spokane County Regional Veterans Service Center strives to provide a comprehensive array of veterans programs and services to Eastern Washington veterans in a positive culture of honor and respect for their service.
