EWU McNair Scholar, Nathan Blair, was accepted to the PhD program in Chemistry at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, with funding. Nathan was selected from a competitive and diverse pool of applicants, and is excited about the prospect of researching with fellow McNair Scholar, David Nguyen. This is Nathan’s first acceptance. Way to go!
EWU McNair Scholar, Elvin Cabrera, was accepted to University of Arizona in the PhD program of Chemistry with funding. This is Elvin’s third acceptance with funding for a PhD track program–a great feat indeed! Congratulations Elvin!

EWU McNair Scholar, Elvin Cabrera, completed a McNair Research Project this summer with his mentor, Dr. Wes Steiner. His research title is “Development of a Fatty Acid Methyl Esters (FAME) Assay for Biodiesel by Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR) “. Keep up the good work Elvin!
