This tool is a noise meter resource you can access online. It has a variety of settings that be changed based on noise sensitivity, a variety of different bouncy visuals that can be chosen, and a variety of settings if you choose to have a sound play when it is too loud. This helps maintain volume control in your classroom and gives students a fun visual to see to help them maintain their inside voices.
The classroom drive-thru is helpful because it keeps the movement around the classroom run smoothly without chaos happening. When there’s a structured line implemented for moving around the classroom in a certain area and direction, it helps prevent kids from running into each other, ripping over students desks/chairs, and prevents the classroom from becoming too crowed in one area. It forces students to learn how to be patient and wait for their turn as well.
Students have a bin in the middle of their group tables that has resources that set the students up for success. This can be things like calculators,scratch paper, resources for activities, etc. depending on the activity planned for the day.
The dirtiest wipe contest is used as a tool to clean up the classroom. It is helpful because the entire class is working to try and get their wipe the dirtiest by wiping down anything that is dirty, which leads to a clean classroom. This also helps students feel motivated to clean their classroom and be proud of the way it looks.
This tool is a great tool that can be used in the mornings when students come to school. Students can check in and choose how they are feeling that day. It lets the teacher know how students are feeling and whether they need to adjust their day as well.
This tool will be helpful because students will be able to write down the problems they are having inside or outside the classroom and then the teacher and the students will work together to find a solution. Some students may be scared to share their problems or an incident that has occurred this problem-solving box can help students feel safe to share without feeling pressured or feeling embarrassed.
This tool is intended to help keep students happy outside of class as well. The idea is to make complimentary phone calls or letters and give them to their parents about something their child did well.
Flexible seating is when students have different options of where and what they can use for seating within the classroom. Flexible seating is helpful as it allows for students to be comfortable in the classroom.
Timers can be used to facilitate smooth transitions in the classroom. You can choose any length of time for your timer, whatever works for you. Timers for transitions also provide brain break’s for students throughout the day.
This tool is helpful for students to not constantly bombard the teacher by asking to go to the bathroom one after the other. With this, they’ll be able to know that someone is already in the restroom and they need to wait to ask when they come back/the light is off.
