Unions and Contracts

The Mission of the Eastern Washington Labor Relations office is to create and support a positive and productive working and learning environment for all employees in the University community. We provide assistance to all levels of Eastern Washington University faculty, staff and management, so they are better able to meet their labor relations obligations while supporting the University’s mission, aspiration, values and goals. We counsel all employees in a fair and unbiased manner and treat all individuals who seek our assistance with respect and dignity.


Collective Bargaining Agreements (Contracts)

Unions on Campus

Bargaining Unit Description:

All full-time and regular part-time employees of the University who are designated with Faculty Status, excluding casual or temporary employees as defined in WAC 391-35-350, administrators, confidential employees, graduate student employees, post-doctoral and clinical employees, and employees subject to Chapter 41.06 or 41.56 RCW.

Bargaining Unit #1 Description:

The University recognizes the Union as the exclusive bargaining representative for those employees covered by RCW 41.06, and excluding: supervisory and confidential employees as defined by RCW 41.80; exempt employees; faculty; students; and temporary employees.

Bargaining Unit #2 Description:

The University recognizes the Union as the exclusive bargaining representative for those supervisors covered by RCW 41.08, covered by RCW 41.06 and excluding: non-supervisory and confidential employees as defined by RCW 41.80; exempt employees; faculty; students; and temporary employees.

Bargaining Unit #3 Description:

The University recognizes the Union as the exclusive bargaining representative for all non-supervisory uniformed personnel employed by Eastern Washington University, as defined by RCW 41.80.005(15), excluding confidential employees as defined by RCW 41.80; internal auditors; supervisors; and employees included in any other bargaining unit.

Bargaining Unit #4 Description:

The University recognizes the Union as the exclusive bargaining representative for all supervisory uniformed personnel employed by Eastern Washington University, as defined by RCW 41.80.005(15), excluding confidential employees as defined by RCW 41.80; internal auditors; non-supervisory employees; and employees included in any other bargaining unit.

Bargaining Unit Description:

All full-time and regular part-time exempt employees as defined in RCW 41.56.021 assigned to provide student counseling and employees assigned to extension/continuing education, excluding coaches, employees assigned to Child and Family Outreach, employees assigned to Idaho Social Work, employees who are faculty, classified, confidential, supervisory and all other employees.
