Congratulations to EWU McNair Scholar Rachel Silverthorn! Rachel has been accepted into the PhD program in Criminal Justice at Florida International University, the Masters program at the University of Cambridge, and the Masters in Criminal Justice at Washington State University. This is in addition to acceptances into two other Masters programs in Criminology! Rachel is a senior at Eastern Washington University majoring in Psychology with research interests in equity and discrimination in the criminal justice system. To prepare for graduate school Rachel has spent two summers, with mentor Dr. Kayleen Islam-Zwart, researching perceptions of potential jurors with regards to pregnant defendants.
