Pie and Whiskey Reading? I’ll Be There!

Get Lit! is excited to announce that the 4th annual Pie & Whiskey reading will be held at the Woman’s Club of Spokane on April 23rd from 9-11PM. 13 artists will take the stage and present readings they wrote for this specific event. Hosted by Sam Ligon and Kate Lebo, Pie & Whiskey is going to be an intriguing, entertaining night with all these great authors. For $2 anyone 21+ will get a full slice of a pie, a beverage, and admission to hear all of these fantastic readings. There will also be non-alcoholic beverages available.

When I read the event title, “Pie & Whiskey” I was in a trance from there on out. I mean, come on, pie has been America’s food since way back in 1902 when the New York Times said, “Pie is the food of the heroic. No pie-eating people can ever be permanently vanquished.” Lost Horse Press will be producing a chapbook featuring the twelve pieces written, with the books hand-stitched by EWU students. This book will be available at the event.

This is going to be an incredible night for the 4th annual Pie & Whiskey event. Don’t miss out! There are a limited number of seats available when the doors open at 9 and I’m sure it’s going to fill up quickly, so show up early to guarantee yourself a chance to eat pie, drink whiskey, and listen to these authors incredible work!
