EWU McNair Scholar Serena Camacho Awarded WSU Scholarship

Serena Camacho WSU ScholarshipCongratulations to EWU McNair Scholar Serena Camacho! Serena has been awarded Washington State University‘s Miller-Manchester Endowment in the College of Education scholarship, donated by Gary Manchester & Nancy Zieg. This scholarship is awarded to graduate students who major in Teaching and Learning, and are returning students pursuing a graduate degree in Education.

Serena will graduate from EWU in 2023, majoring in Health Psychology. For her 2022 Summer Research Internship, Serena worked with Dr. Camille Frank on a research project titled Higher Education: Student Success and Supplemented Educational Participation. Prior to transferring to EWU, Serena received her Associates in Applied Science from Spokane Falls Community College. We know she will bring a capacity for compassion and thinking outside the box to WSU’s PhD in Cultural Studies and Social Thought in Education program, which she will begin in Fall 2023.
