Daily Zones Check-in

Every morning, when students first sit down, they will fill out the “Zones Check-in” Slip. The teacher will collect these slips and will be able to quickly sort through them, in order to gauge exactly how all of their students are feeling, with no interruption or distraction. This will also give the students an opportunity to alert to the teacher that they might not be doing so great and need to talk with the teacher.

Inverse Cue

Using a cue to grab the students’ attention can be helpful especially when it reinforces math vocabulary. After saying a positive or negative number, students will say the inverse or opposite number. This is a helpful tool for moving groups to the next station in a timely matter.

Classroom Cheers

Classroom Cheers help build a positive relationship and attitude within the classroom between students and teachers. This contains a cup of a variety of cheers that can be preformed in order to support and encourage when our students or peers did something good that day or during an activity. They can be used to represent one individual student or the class as a whole.

Positive Letters and Phone Calls

With these letters or phone calls home it allows an insight for the parents to see how their children are doing in the class. As well that a phone call or letter home isn’t always a negative thing for the students and it also allows the parents feel like they are also knowing what is going on in the classroom.
